Applied Behavior Analysis

Center Based Therapy

Center-Based Therapy Services are provided on-site at Southern Louisiana Behavior Consultants, LLC facility. Our center-based model is designed to promote growth in our client's skills across many facets of development including social interactions, skill acquisition, play skills, communication, and adaptive skills.

The vast majority of families participating in early intervention programs want the child to eventually transition into a mainstream environment, particularly school settings. Therapy schedules that a primarily home-based do not achieve this goal as quickly.

By providing center-based services we can offer our client's a higher quality of therapy by:

One-on-One Therapy

Every treatment program is specifically catered to the individual needs of our clients. One-on-One therapy sessions address behaviors including: compliance, instruction following, language, sibling relationships, age-appropriate play, social, motor, and self-help skills.

One-on-One therapy pairs one client with one of our certified behavior technicians. The technician works individually with the client during sessions to give the client the extra time and attention they need to master specific skills and behaviors.

Social Skills Groups

Social Skills Groups are different than a traditional play-date or peer-based hangout. Social Skills Groups are supervised therapeutic events where the goal is to help the clients gain skills with social interactions.

Some of the skills that clients can use the rest of their lives include:

Parent Training

Parents are the most important element in a client's development. Mandatory monthly parent trainings are paramount to the success of helping a client achieve their developmental milestones.

Parent involvement in the treatment process has been found to be a factor that increases the likelihood of positive outcomes for the child (Crockett and Fleming, 2007). According to Gresham et al. (1999) ABA services for children with autism that included parent training in their treatment results in greater positive outcomes for the client as compared to services without parent training incorporated into the treatment.

Most insurance companies now require that parents participate in parent trainings monthly so that behavior analysts can teach parents how to apply behavior analytic principles within the home and community settings.
